Zehra Öney: You Don’t Need a Technology Background Thanks to the Decentralization Brought by the Blockchain Ecosystem and Crypto World

Zehra Öney, Founding President of the Woman in Technology Association, explained the increasing uncertainty in the world due to advancing technologies and the challenge people face in keeping up with the speed of technology. Öney emphasized the significance of the Binance Woman in Technology Academy, a collaboration between Binance and the Woman in Technology Association:  “In the very near future, many financial and non-financial transactions we conduct in our daily lives will exist within the decentralized structure provided by Web 3.0 and the blockchain ecosystem. For this reason, everyone needs to have an equal level of knowledge in Web 3.0, blockchain, and crypto.”

Zehra Öney also shared that women constitute around 20-25% of those working in the blockchain and crypto ecosystem. She expressed the belief that the academy’s training will increase this percentage, contributing to gender equality and enhancing Türkiye’s technological and economic capabilities. Öney commended Binance for its efforts in gender equality and expressed their joy in collaborating on an academy where participants can apply their knowledge in blockchain and crypto.

The Woman in Technology Association will provide mentorship support as part of the Binance Woman in Technology Academy, the initiative launched with Binance TR’s belief in the transformative power of women in the technological workforce.
