Project Details
The path of Limak Foundation’s “Turkey’s Engineer Girls” project, which started in 2015, intersected with the Woman in Technology Association in 2020, giving rise to a strong partnership to equip our future engineer girls with technological competence.
In the 3rd term of the education project, the female engineers received training in R&D, innovation, digital transformation, and entrepreneurship within the “Sustainable Leadership with the Focus on Technology” program held in 2023. They developed projects where they could apply theoretical knowledge they learned practically and generate solutions for regional issues. Just like every year, the project chose one of UNDP’s Sustainable Development Goals for this year’s Ideathon.
The projects that received awards at the Ideathon held under the “Sustainable Cities and Communities” theme within the Sustainable Leadership with a Focus on Technology Certificate Program in 2023 were:
1. W-cycle
2. Sustainability in Agriculture
3. Minimum Risk
The group that won the Ideathon, “W-cycle,” developed a project where shopping coupons are exchanged for collected waste and aimed to promote the use of galvanized boxes in postal services for a more sustainable world.
In three years, Türkiye’s Engineer Girls have trained over 400 female engineers.
Our project was completed in 2023.
