Project Details

As the Woman in Technology Association, we launched the “Technological and Innovative Solutions in Agriculture” competition last April in line with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal 2: Zero Hunger. The competition aimed to encourage new ideas, projects, products, and services that would contribute to sustainability in agriculture, and amplify its impact.

The primary objective of the competition was to improve sustainable methods in agriculture and contribute to sustainable goals in Türkiye by creating solutions, supporting women in the agriculture sector to become role models, and encouraging female entrepreneurs to focus on sustainable agricultural technologies.

The competition was made possible with the valuable support of various institutions, including the Republic of Türkiye, Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry, the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), Dutch Development Bank (FMO), Amazon Web Services, Tekfen Holding, Cargill, Yemeksepeti, Credit Registration Bureau (KKB), SAS, Tempo BPO, and Adcolony.

The competition was conducted in two categories: university and entrepreneur. In the university category, ConFarm, which addressed food insufficiency with their container designs won the first prize, connecting everyone with organic and efficient agriculture. The Mühendis Beyinler (The Engineer Brains) team secured the second position, and Kybele’s Garden came in third. In the entrepreneur category, Nanomik team secured the first position by developing 100% natural pesticides to replace chemical preservatives used to prevent the waste of 2.5 billion tons of fresh fruit and vegetables produced worldwide annually.

As the Woman in Technology Association, we continued to support our teams even after the competition.
