How has your career journey been so far? Can you talk about those who have guided you along the way and the significant turning points in your career?

I graduated in 2007 with a degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from Bilkent University. I began my first professional experience as an Embedded Systems Software Developer at Siemens in Germany. I believe a pivotal moment in my post-academic life was starting my career with German discipline. Experiencing the meaning of responsibility and keeping promises in the professional world was a unique and valuable experience. Upon my return, I not only spoke German fluently but also had a deep understanding and appreciation for German culture and work discipline. Throughout my career in Türkiye, I continued to work extensively with German clients in various managerial positions, bridging German work discipline with the intelligence of young Turkish engineers, paving the way for our current success.

In 2019, I founded BISS with the mission of developing and globally delivering next-generation technologies. As we enter 2024, I take pride in being recognized as the happiest technology company in the industry.

2. How did your paths cross with Wtech? Can you discuss your relationship with the organization?

Since the day our company was founded, we have placed great importance on social responsibility projects. Our team consists of young individuals, all of whom possess bright minds and inherently strong innovative ideas. As a company, we encourage our employees to think outside the box, and engage in brainstorming. On special occasions, our colleagues often suggest making donations to organizations that specifically support women and youth instead of organizing usual celebrations. Additionally, our engineering team works on non-profit projects that align with our belief in contributing to the wellbeing of society, and we share these initiatives with relevant authorities.

While actively contributing to societal benefits, Ms. Aysın, whom we consult for PR matters, introduced us to Wtech. The organization’s work, purpose, and vision aligned perfectly with our perspective on social responsibility projects. Currently, we not only provide financial support but also engage in educational partnerships, share our knowledge and experiences. Our goal is to grow together with the organization, producing and supporting socially responsible projects for the community.

3. Can you talk about your personal relationship with technology? How has technology, as a founder, changed you and your business in recent years?

My personal relationship with technology has been shaped by curiosity and a desire to explore since my childhood. I had a keen interest in electronic devices, always wanting to tinker or repair them. I first encountered computer technology in the early years of university, and since then, I have enjoyed being immersed in digital technology. My education in software engineering and 18 years of industry experience allowed me to observe firsthand how technology transforms the business world, and contribute through the software I developed.

While technology makes our work more efficient, its constant evolution requires us to stay updated continually. This dynamic nature motivates us to move forward and encourages innovation. Therefore, in line with the mission we have undertaken as a company, we are working to facilitate the technological transformations of businesses, embrace digitalization, and ensure that future generations also enjoy the benefits of technology.

4. As the founder of Bosphorus ISS, you contribute to the digitalization of companies in Türkiye. While the AI revolution profoundly transforms our lives, countries continue their digitalization processes. What steps can be taken to accelerate digital transformation in Türkiye?

First and foremost, we need to look at the world and acknowledge that without exception, the most valuable companies are now technology companies. Therefore, we must recognize that the only way to elevate our country to desired level is to develop new technologies. Vietnam is an excellent example of a country that has established itself globally as a technology-producing nation. Their Gross Domestic Product, and per capita income may currently be lower than us, but in ten years, they will experience tremendous growth.

Concrete steps we can take include:

Increasing investments in Science High Schools that have produced today’s most valuable scientists in STEM fields, tracking talents, and providing guidance.

Facilitating a comprehensive transformation for companies and industries towards digitalization through incentives and regulations. A country cannot develop new technologies without consuming them.

Supporting companies that develop new technologies with incentives. As I mentioned earlier, the future and prosperity of a country depends on technological advancement. Encouraging such companies will lead to economic growth and increase the recognition of these countries in technology.

Encouraging the employment and development of qualified individuals in technology companies after university, ensuring that companies hire more than the capacity they need. This way, the sector meets its needs internally.

Of course, the most crucial aspect is the development of policies that emphasize not losing the qualified individuals we educate, explaining to them the importance of living in their homeland, and creating opportunities for those who leave to return and contribute value to the country.

5.In a world where technology is used for the benefit of humanity, what do you think the ideal world order should be?

In an ideal tech-infused world, I envision equal access to technology for everyone, utilized to enhance the quality of human life. In this context, a human-centered design for technology and an inclusive approach should be adopted. Protecting individuals’ privacy by ensuring data privacy and security, developing environmentally friendly technologies for a sustainable future, and using technology to promote equal opportunities for education and access to information on a global scale are essential.

For example, in 2050; there might be a Türkiye where access to employment opportunities is equal regardless of the city you live in, where high productivity and sustainable production are achieved through smart agricultural technologies, self-sufficiency is maintained, global technology brands are established, technology is exported worldwide, distances are bridged through AI-supported healthcare services, and everyone has equal access through digital education and remote work opportunities, regardless of their location.
