We continue working tirelessly to heal Hatay. During our first trip<\/a> to the city in the cold days of February, we took financial and material aid we had received from the members of our association and Bridge to T\u00fcrkiye Fund<\/a>; the tents we had received from Mehmet Bayraktar, as well as the donations sent previously to Kansersiz Ya\u015fam Derne\u011fi (Life Without Cancer Foundation). Consequently, we <\/span>set up 150 tents, distributed all-encompassing disaster relief packages, and provided essential materials to 300 families and 2.000 people during our 7-day stay to address their most pressing needs all at once.<\/b><\/p>\n

Our Founding President, Zehra \u00d6ney, was in New York for her speech at the United Nations on March 8. During this time, we collected more essential materials and improved communication through our channels. Then, we went to Hatay for the second time until the beginning of this week, with high motivation under the leadership of our Founding President, Zehra \u00d6ney, instead of solely sending aid to the region. Having identified families living in dire conditions and distant areas, <\/span>we continued setting up tents in the Antakya, Defne, Samanda\u011f, Alt\u0131n\u00f6z\u00fc, and Yaylada\u011f\u0131 districts of Hatay.<\/b> In some cases, 3-4 families were accommodated in a tent that was intended for only one family to live in. We have provided shelter and disaster relief packages to these families so they can live under humane conditions.<\/span><\/p>\n

We maintained our distribution system in an organized manner with the financial and material support we received from you. In addition to providing 350 tents, we have also completed our preparations for distributing materials that match the current needs in the disaster area, such as <\/span>tracksuits, underwear, slippers, hygiene materials, food, and educational materials and books for children. <\/b>During our last trip, we also provided food to our animal friends.<\/span><\/p>\n

Moving forward with the same system we implemented earlier, we support the people in the region more and more every day so that families can own the area they live in, business owners can productively continue their activities and find the motivation to increase production in the region, and children and women can build a future for themselves under safe living conditions.<\/span><\/p>\n

Some restaurants, cafeterias, groceries, and selling points have already opened in Hatay. There is electricity in the city. Life is going back to normal with gradual steps. <\/span>Being aware of our responsibilities as the Woman in Technology Association, we work towards providing education to the students in the region and healing their traumas, and enabling parents to create a hygienic environment for their families within the tents they live in.<\/b><\/p>\n

Moving forward, you are our most significant source of strength. Since our association focuses on education and sustainability, we will continue our efforts to get your support to develop several projects for the region within the next two years.
